The canteen is run by the parents and citizens association (P&C), and is a member of the NSW Healthy School Canteens association.
Managed by Ms Suzie Dark the canteen is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 8:30am to 1:30pm.
Our menu supports the 'Fresh Tastes @ school' NSW Healthy School strategy. The department introduced a policy in 2011 the 'all schools should promote and model healthy eating and food nutrition in school programs and activities relating to or involving food and drink'.
This strategy aims to provide school children with a healthy and nutritious canteen food service, consistent with the Australian dietary guidelines for children and adolescents and the Australian guide to healthy eating. Under this strategy school canteen menu's should aim for 50% green, <50% amber and 0% red, and 0% banned.
We are a great choice healthy canteen school.
We offer a wide range of recess and lunch options for students at affordable prices. A full menu site and the menu is featured in the school newsletter at the beginning and end of each term. Extra copies of the menu can be collected at the canteen.
Lunch bags are available from the canteen.
The canteen relies on volunteers to help prepare and serve food on canteen days. Volunteering at the canteen is a great way to get involved and meet the school community and support this vital school resource. We encourage all parents, carers, grandparents and friends to call in and see Suzie about helping at the canteen, even if it is only one day a term all help is greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer please complete the volunteer form.
