DEBATING GALA DAY SUCCESS FOR GPS!

On Tuesday 12 June Gloucester Public School students attended a Debating Gala Day at Wingham Brush Public School along with Barrington Public School and Hastings Public School.  The teams were each given a topic and one hour to independently prepare for their debate.  Our team participated in their second and third rounds of the challenge, debating against two individual teams from Hastings Public School and were successful on both occasions.  The topic for their first debate was 'All Violet Video Games Should Be Banned' for which we held the negative position.  Their second topic, ' All Children Should Have A Pet', saw our team take up the affirmative position.  The students were supported by their debating mentor Mrs Caroline Moore.  Round four will be the final round for this division and will see GPS and Barrington Public School against one and other.  Best of luck to both teams.
